You have probably noticed that more and more people are having gas lines installed out to their deck so they can hook right up to their gas barbeque sitting on their deck or BBQ pit. It’s safe, easy and convenient. Eric and the team at Premier Comfort have a gas line installation service in the Ottawa area that is second to none.
Most of us who love to barbeque have a propane powered barbeque and think that to eliminate lugging a heavy propane tank all over town to find the best price propane would be a great idea but will wait until it is time to buy a new barbeque before making the switch to gas. But what most people are not aware of is that, in most cases, they can convert their existing propane barbeque to gas.
If you are going to do this yourself you can buy a kit for fewer than 100 dollars, but for legal, safety and insurance purposes we suggest that you have someone with a gas licence do the job.
Unless you have just spent allot of money on a brand new propane grill, you may want to consider buying a new gas grill and have it installed. It’s a lot less work and hassle. If you love to barbeque, it may be wise to invest in a good one. There are a few good manufactures to choose from that make great gills. What you want to look for is a grill that is simple and solid. Pay attention to the materials used in construct, do your homework, remember you want good function and longevity from you grill.
Convenience and Cost
When you switch from propane to gas you will benefit in two basic ways. Firstly you are going to save money. Propane is probably 4 to 5 times more expensive than gas on any given day, so financially it’s a smart decision. The second benefit is the convenience of not having to worry about running out of propane in the middle of entertaining and the fact that your aren’t running around town switching or refilling propane tanks.
Some Disadvantages
Every thing has its pros and con’s and gas barbeques are no exception. The most obvious one is that fact that you can’t move it around like you could do with the propane grill; you are limited to a couple of feet. The other disadvantage or lost advantage to the propane grill is that if for any reason the gas gets cut off you are out of luck, your backup is gone.
